I'm literally in awe of what others my age are able to eat/drink! After spending a weekend out-of-town with five other couples I just can't believe how much they consume and don't gain a single pound. I know, I know, in previous blogs I have mentioned the importance of not comparing yourself to others. But, wow, when you witness four days of fatty eating and ridiculous amounts of alcohol it's hard to fathom that these people don't gain weight! Now some don't eat all day only to have dinner and then drink from 8 until 6 in the morning. While others had fried donuts, desserts galore, pizza, burgers, fries...OH WAIT, did I mention all the alcohol? Even in my "college days" I was never able to drink all night and wake up and drink the next day. Vacation always appears to be an excuse for people to really let loose. I chose not to drink this weekend, but even if I had, it certainly wouldn't have been day and night for three days straight. In fact, my husband and I (other than one of my girlfriends) were the only couple to take advantage of hiking in the beautiful mountains! I just don't think drinking and eating like that is healthy for your body. I admit, I'm once again jealous that I have a crappy metabolism. Just hearing about the fried donut made my mouth water. But, geez, I must be getting old...
